Wellness Toolbox (For Illness & Hospitalization)

Medical conditions and medical treatment come with many challenges for children and their families. Challenges may include dealing with a new diagnosis or injury, communicating about medical conditions, being faced with frightening or unpleasant medical procedures, struggling with separation from parents and family members, dealing with changes in physical appearance or abilities, managing emotional reactions and and navigating peer relationships. 


The Childhood Matter's Wellness Toolbox was created as a tool to support parents or other caregivers in helping their child manage the medical experience. This coping tool was developed to increase positive coping strategies utilizing evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral coping techniques (e.g., relaxation, play, social support seeking)

One set of tip cards that guide you through the activities



*As with all products, use under adult supervision. Not recommended for children 3 years of age and under or for the “put everything in the mouth” group. Pieces could be a choking hazard. If an item is out of stock, we will replace it with the closest form of that particular item.

** The toolbox comes with one book. A book on hospitalization can be added from the drop down menu in the add on section.
